The Westcote flock

The Westcote flock, owned by Mr B Stayt, was established in 2010 with the purchase of a shearling ewe from the Sunnycroft flock at the Welshpool in-lamb sale for 500gns. She had been female champion at the Great Yorkshire show earlier in the year. In the new year, this stylish ewe gave birth to a cracking ewe lamb. Since then both the ewe and her lamb have had fantastic show careers this year, helping me get off to a flying start.

Currently, the flock consists of two aged ewes, four ewe lambs and two ram lambs. This includes three very promising ewe lambs purchased from the Headlands flock for their terrific shape, style and size. Some of these lambs have already made an impact on the show circuit this year and I thoroughly look forward to seeing how they mature.

My aim is to breed quality and correct males and females for both pedigree and commercial use, also with the view of keeping some females in the flock to build up numbers.
